Promoting Citizenship & Civic Involvement in College Students This webinar will highlight the importance of promoting citizenship and civic involvement in higher education (and the social issues that arise when citizenship and civic involvement is not cultivated). The values to promote in students that lead to informed, engaged citizenship will also be discussed. Specific actions will be shared that higher education professionals (faculty and staff) can take to engage students in civic activities and promote said values. Additionally, national and regional resources will be shared to stay abreast of voting opportunities and other areas of civic engagement. Finally, cautionary advice in promoting citizenship and civic involvement in higher education to ensure relationships are strengthened rather than threatened when approaching potentially sensitive conversations.
