Dr. Michael Butcher
AI in Action: Transforming Careers and Workplaces

Dr. Butcher is a leader in merging higher education with artificial intelligence (AI). He serves as Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at the College of Coastal Georgia and is the Founder and President of the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education. With a diverse academic background spanning Information Technology, Public Administration, Educational Leadership, and Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Butcher is nationally recognized for his expertise in AI's application in higher education. He has made significant contributions to the field, particularly evident through his presentations at the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) conferences and his involvement in an AI ethics panel. His influence extends to other arenas, including presentations at the North Cobb Rotary Club and administrative committees for the University System of Georgia. Dr. Butcher is also spearheading an innovative undergraduate course on "Artificial Intelligence and Business Innovation" set to launch in summer 2024, aiming to equip students with the knowledge to navigate the evolving technological landscape. Under his leadership, the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education is developing and implementing solutions, training, and research to transform educational outcomes through AI. His consultancy work with EdTech companies and speaking engagements further extends his impact, enhancing student success and administrative efficiency across educational institutions. With nearly two decades of experience, Dr. Butcher's strategic vision and dedication to integrating AI into education and beyond have established him as a respected authority in the field.
